Well something I have to admit: I love my Scout!!! Yeah, I've been a traitor and played Alb for a few days but, hell I like my Scout too much. Besides I like my Ministrel either ... ;)
Abermenai and Thidranki keep defenses with a Scout are a bomb. Just wait until somebody sits down near the shore to reg, feeling safe. The nicest are the Hib keeps where you can stand behind the wall firing at people on long range while other Bow classes can't shoot you because their range is too short to fire at you. Once you are in range for them you're also out of sight. So you can't shoot them either but at least you're safe. Your only enemy would be bolt casters wich you can interrupt with an arrow or block the Bolts with the Engage Shield skill :)
Well on such an Abermenai keep defense we were raided by around 20 Hibs and we were 5 (2 Scouts, 1 Infiltrator, 1 Armsman, 1 Paladin). That was one of those 8am raids so there was no chance for reinforcements. I wasn't very optimistic when the raid started but it turned out as the best and funniest keep raid ever.
Well on the first try there were about 10 Hibs trying to raid and we successfully smoked them with Scout range and Infiltrator power. After they had lost their Healer they were doomed. Well but a few mins later they came back with around 20 people and without us even knowing that they had arrived they had already set up the ram on the outer doors. me being stupid, jumping on the climbing post and shot at the 1st best Bard. 5 seconds later I was stunned and another five seconds later dead and had to release. Lucky as I was I missed teh port and had a little break. On the cg I read that they already placed a 2nd ram on the outer doors and when I ported, the 1st door was down (lvl 5 O.o). So I decided to grab some wood in ATK and to sneak heavily encumbered to the CK.
I arrived and survived and the Inner door was already on 70%. I stood in the front of the inner doors and typed /repair ... ... ... you ain't got enough wood to repair the gates :(. Well what now? There was just one thing I could do ... wait for more wood. Sadly nobody including me had enough cash to buy enough wood to keep the inner gates up. So I chose to repair the outer doors. That was harder then I thought because everytime that I started to repair I destelthed and there was a Nightshade stalking around the gatekeeper. so often I couldn't even finish the repairs before the NS hit me and i had to teleport inside. after a few tries and the outer gates successfully repaired about 3 times the Nightshade attacked together with a Fian and I died and had to release again. The outer doors were still open and not much of repaired either. So I decided to get my Armsman online to transfer some cash to my Scout.
I missed one port and when I arrived in ATK the Inner doors were at about 30%. I grabbed as much wood as I could and ran unstealthed across AB and even got into the keep, alive.
20% ... no time to loose ... I started repairing ... ... ... 25% ... ... ... ... 30% ... ... ... (thx to the folks who killed the ram controller) ram decays ... all of a sudden AoE DoT on me ... no healer ... ouch ... ouch ... ouch ... ouch ... phew ... I survived ... I continue repairing the doors ... ... AoE DoT again ... I die ...
At this point I thought we lost because I missed the port again ... but ...
I read in the cg ... Hibs INC with Siegemaster. Kill him, kill him. Damn he got through. they have placed the ram ... ... ... No, they've misplaced it :)
I fetched some wood and ran back to the CK ... ram INC again ... ram placed ... I got inside the keep ... trying to repair the inner doors but my woodworking skill is too low to succeed every try. The tanks left to get me more wood ... the infil keeps killing the ram controller but my repairs are slow and i was running out of wood fast. about 30 boards left ... not enough to repair the inner doors. Inner doors at 10% .. .i choose to try the outer doors again ... i get attacked by the Nightshade and I had to teleport but the Infiltrator gets him. I tried again ... ram controller runs inside to the ram ... outer doors close ... ram controller gets killed by guards ... Hibs gave up ... we win :D
That was real fun :)

Last night, I realized once more that the Druid's Insta-Heal is my best friend, when I walked around the Thid Island shore to rezz people with Herbststurm, who is my lvl 21 Druid.
A Shadowblade did a throat slitting motion after I left the guards protection range and I knew it would just be a matter of a few seconds until i'll be PAed wich usually hits my Druid pretty hard because he still wears reinforced armor. As expected the Shadowblade stabbed me and I was snared and poisoned. While I'm groupless, wich i was this night, I have always myself targeted so I was able to cast my Insta-Heal in time. Well I was still snared and poisoned and the SB kept hitting my back. I already gave myself up when a grp of Hibs crossed my way and whooped his Kobby ass.
After i had recovered myself of my wounds I couldn't resist to laugh at the Shadowblade over and over and he didn't come back for the rest of the night. That's really sad because the next time he would surely have kicked my wooden butt.
Another funny thing was when we were attacked by the Albs and Mids at the same time the night before. I saw a lonely Armsman standing near the CK shore and a Bard nearby, so I decided to put up my DPS-buff and go for the kill. The Armsman seemed pretty surprised because first he didn't hit me at all. Then he started whacking me with his 2h sword. After 2 Hits I had to use my Insta-Heal and after another two hits I was almost dead when the Bard started healing me and the Armsman's health drained slow but steadily until it reached 0.
Another encounter was a Friar Who was at about half health. I didn't really think about what I was doing, I just attacked him. While fighting I realized that I was not hurting him at all and i saw that my DPS-buff ran out. So I decided to run away. He didn't follow me so I healed myself up and buffed myself and ran back to him. He seemed to be out of mana because he still was on half health so I started hitiing him again and had to use my Insta-Heal quickly. He couldn't use anymore styles so I got im to crawling spped health and could heal me once more before I finished him off.
All I want to say is that Insta-Heal kicks butt :P
So far I gotta go to school now =)

Ehehehe ... life is very odd sometimes. In Feburary my grandma died. Well this wasn't too spectacular because she had been seriously ill for years. In her last days she was barely able to moveand just sat apathically in her Chair staring out of the window. I think it was the best for her to die. I wasn't really sad on her funeral because i knew she got finally rid of her pains and the torture and i got over it very fast.
Well last week my Uncle died. His death hit me hard. He was only in his mid 40s and had been living extremely healthy sinc he wsa about 20. Last week he had left his house for some jogging with his mate. And after that he wanted to go on a biker trip with my Aunt. After some jogging he asked his mate to stop for a moment because he wouldn't feel very well and in the next moment he was dead. That was really hard for me, because my Uncle was young and healthy and he died unexpected. Yesterday i was on his funeral and the hardest was to see my aunt crying all the time. I had to think about all her plans, all her life just blew up from one second to the other. It got even worse when I hugged her and tried to give her a "heads up" smile. I felt really stupid and helpless by doing that but it was what I felt like doing. I mean i really love my aunt and it was very hard for me to see her suffer. Even my sister cried hard. She didn't cry at grandma's funeral. Well in the evening I was almost over it and were able to play DAoC and forget about the rest of the day.
This night my mum called the ambulance because my dad felt bad. They took him to the hospital and they found out that he has an heart ateria constipation. The doc said that if he waited a few days more he might have died.
Well it's no nice way to get up in the morning. Now I have to go to school.
I hope i don't have to go on another funeral soon.
